Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Cars vs. Our Competitors

When it comes to peace of mind, it’s tough to beat a Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. They must meet strict standards even to qualify and include comprehensive coverage. We’re diving into all the details at Keyes European so you can see how it compares to other luxury Certified Pre-Owned programs.

Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Cars vs. Our Competitors

Qualification Standards

Each of our Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicles must pass a stringent 165-point inspection, which our trained technicians complete. We also put it through a comprehensive road test. If anything is not up to our strict standards, it’s thoroughly reconditioned.

Among our other eligibility requirements, each vehicle:

  • Must be less than six years old
  • Must have less than 75,000 miles
  • Must have met the Mercedes-Benz service requirements
  • Must include a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report

Warranty Coverage

Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicles also include comprehensive warranty coverage. Each car comes with any remainder of the four-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Once it has expired, the 12-month Limited Warranty begins, which has unlimited mileage. You can also add a Certified Pre-Owned Extended Limited Warranty for up to one or two years.

Mercedes-Benz vs. BMW

The Certified Pre-Owned Program for Mercedes-Benz and BMW vehicles are similar, although Mercedes-Benz has one big standout – vehicle exchange privilege. You have up to seven days to exchange your vehicle if you realize it isn’t for you. BMW also requires BMW Certified vehicles to have at least 300 miles, but there’s no minimum requirement for Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz vs. Audi

Audi limits their Certified Pre-Owned warranty coverage to 20,000 miles, while the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty is good for one year and unlimited mileage. They also don’t offer the vehicle exchange privilege.

Mercedes-Benz vs. Lexus

While our Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicles must pass a 165-point inspection, the Lexus inspection isn’t as thorough, with only 161 points. Mercedes-Benz offers loaner vehicles when you need service for any covered repairs. However, with Lexus, your repairs must take more than eight hours to get a loaner vehicle. Lexus also limits trip interruption coverage to $200 per day, while Mercedes-Benz provides up to $300 per day.
