Mercedes-Benz Service Tips: Preparing Your Car for Spring

Your vehicle certainly needs maintenance year-round, but there are a few extra tasks that we recommend you complete in the spring. Now that the seasons have changed, it’s important to schedule Mercedes-Benz service at Keyes European.  

Service Your Air Conditioning System 

While we don’t really have a cold season here, we all know we’ll certainly be using our air conditioning this summer. Now is an opportune time to have your air conditioning system serviced. We will look for any unusual wear, leaks, or clogs. Plus, we’ll do a thorough inspection of your cooling fan and top off (or replace) your coolant.  

Replace Your Windshield Wiper Blades 

While we haven’t had as much rain this year as normal, our rainy season isn’t over. It’s important to have a good pair of windshield wipers that can clear your windshield completely. You should replace your windshield wiper blades once a year, and now is an opportune time to do so. Don’t forget to also fill your windshield wiper fluid.  

Inspect Your Tires 

With slick terrains, it’s also important to have a good set of tires with adequate tread. Your tread is necessary to give you traction and control on the road. Your tires’ tread should measure at least 4/32 of an inch.

You can easily check your tread by completing the quarter test:

• Locate the shallowest point of tread on your tires.
• Insert a quarter into the groove, with President Washington’s head pointed downward (and facing you).
• If the top of his head is visible once you touch the bottom, your tires are too bare and need to be replaced.
