Drive into the Future, Electrically

April 13th, 2021 by

In recent years, interest in all-electric and hybrid vehicles has gone up, and with no signs of stopping. As a response to that interest, Keyes European of Van Nuys and other California car dealers have been looking into the research and asking how we can help our customers with the transition to an electric vehicle. And it all starts with sharing the stats so you know exactly what your options are.

Popularity of Electric Vehicles

Over the next four years, 26% of the 300 upcoming model launches will be electric. Local electric vehicle charging stations are cropping up all over, especially in California. Here, we have 44 stations per capita, which is fewer per capita than only two other states – Hawaii and Oregon.

Mercedes-Benz offers several hybrid and all-electric vehicle options, including the upcoming 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS that was revealed earlier this year. It goes perfectly with our redesigned high-end Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but with a very efficient twist.

Types of Electric & Hybrid Cars

  • Hybrid Electric Vehicle – Combines gas engine with a small electric motor. The battery is charged by engine and braking. It can only travel short distances on battery alone.
  • Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle – Has both gas engine and electric motor. The battery can be charged by an external source (outlet). Able to travel moderate distances (20-50 miles) in EV mode.
  • Battery Electric Vehicle – Run entirely on battery power/electric drivetrain. Must be plugged into an external power source to charge the battery. Typically able to travel 100-300 miles on a single charge.

Financially and environmentally, going green simply makes sense. To chat more about these impressive innovations, visit our Mercedes-Benz dealership in Van Nuys today.
