If you’re looking for a vehicle designed for the future, consider an EQ by Mercedes-Benz model. They’re the ultimate combination of performance, luxury, and electric driving, and they’re available right here at Keyes European. Federal Credits

When electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles were first entering the market, an overwhelming majority were eligible for tax incentives from the federal government. This has changed due to restrictive manufacturing and supply chain requirements introduced by the Inflation Reduction Act, rendering several models – including EQ by Mercedes-Benz models – ineligible for federal tax credits.

California State Credits

While federal incentives may no longer benefit drivers of EQ by Mercedes-Benz models, state credits still might. Depending on income and the vehicles they’re purchasing, California drivers may qualify for the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project.

That means up to $7,000 for fuel-cell electric vehicles, $4,500 for hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles, $2,000 for battery electric vehicles, and $1,000 for plug-in hybrid models. Your Mercedes-Benz dealer can help you navigate the requirements and associated paperwork.

Leasing Credits

Another way to qualify for EV credits is to consider leasing. The stricter manufacturing requirements apply only to personal vehicles, not commercial vehicles. To incentivize companies to transition their fleets, lessors of vehicles produced outside North America may be eligible for the full tax credit of up to $7,500, which is often passed along to the lessee.
