5 Questions to Ask When Buying a Used Car

used cars

Shopping for used cars is a slightly different process than shopping for new ones. There are additional factors to consider to make sure the vehicle not only fits your budget, but is the right fit for the investment you’re making. However, at Keyes European, we can make sure you don’t miss any major points.

Common questions to ask:

What’s the make, model, year, and trim?

Make sure you know exactly what model you’re looking at so you can do additional research on the lifespan and long-term practicality of the vehicle. These basic factors will impact not only the current value of the car but also how you might expect it to hold up over time and what eventual repairs and maintenance might cost.

What’s the mileage and condition

If you’re not a car expert, the mileage and overall appearance can give a lot of insight into how well a used car may run. Some damage may be more on the cosmetic side, but high mileage vehicles ultimately require more care and may not run as efficiently.

Is it certified?

Our Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicles are guaranteed to be of the highest quality, lowest mileage, and best overall value when you factor in the added warranty, roadside assistance, and other CPO perks.

Is there a history report?

Some vehicles may come with a report from CarFax or another organization. This can give potential buyers insight into whether that vehicle has been into an accident, had titling issues, and sometimes even the history of maintenance and repairs.

You can ask us all of these questions and more at Keyes European. Come see us soon in Van Nuys to get behind the wheel of your next new-to-you luxury vehicle!
